About Us

The Cub Scouts of Pack 203 are primarily from Laura Welch Bush Elementary, but we are open to homeschool and other youth in the area.  Pack 203 was started in 2002 when Laura Welch Bush Elementary School was opened, and we are still going strong.  We belong to the North Shore District of the Capitol Area Council and are chartered by the Beau Theriot Canyonland Preserve.

Cub Scouting is open to youth (both boys and girls) in Kindergarten to 5th grade. They are separated by grade into ranks:

  • Kindergarten - Lion
  • 1st grade - Tiger
  • 2nd grade - Wolf
  • 3rd grade - Bear
  • 4th grade - Webelos
  • 5th grade - Arrow Of Light

Each rank may have multiple dens. There are separate dens for boys and dens for girls. The entire set of dens is called the pack. Besides regular den and pack meetings, we participate in family activities like:

  • Campouts
  • Overnight stays at Battleship Texas and USS Lexington
  • NASA overnighters
  • Pinewood Derby
  • ... and much more!
